You can pass this test. Hint: the answer is always YES.
The 5th annual Kegaroo will be on Sunday, January 18th with all the goods (DJ, keg, pancakes, gong, didgeridoo). Monday is a holiday so you have no excuses.
What is Kegaroo you ask? Valid question. It’s a gathering of folks dressed in kangaroo onesies that you’d expect on a 5 year old. Those dressed in said onesie are welcome to a keg (21+) which is to be drunken in the parking lot of Palisaides at sunrise. There’s also music and pancakes and Australian garb. The best part is a T to B mountain run with kangaroos as far as the eye can see. It’s a silly gathering and the only real point is to have fun with more and more people each year. Some day we’d like to be officially recognized but for now we’re more of a grassroots organization.
Here is the schedule of events:
- 7:00 am: tap the keg, fire up the griddles
- 7:45 am: DJ starts (ft. Life Symbols)
- 10:00 am: Hit the lifts
- 10:30 am: Group photo at Gold Coast followed by the largest kangaroo T to B mountain run ever (and last years was pretty f***ing big)
- 3 pm: Shammys after party
A quick reminder on the rules:
1: GET YOUR KANGAROO ONESIE!! This is your ticket to fun (and booze) - only people dressed up as kangaroos are allowed to drink from the keg(s?)! THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT GET YOUR ONESIE.
2: Spread the good word. Invite your friends. Invite the lift line. Invite everyone you know. We’re going for a record number of Roos
3: RSVP to let other Roos know you roo
4: If you don’t dress up as a kangaroo, you will be forgotten
5: Bring your favorite lot ornaments - pancake griddles, boomerangs, hula hoops, meat pies, vegemite, etc.
6: Spread good energy on the mountain - thank the lifties, dance when the bus drivers honk, and most importantly stay politely hammered. The mountain has always been nice to us and we’d like to return the favor!

By attending Kegaroo, you acknowledge that this is a voluntary, informal gathering and you assume all risks associated with participation, including but not limited to early mornings, being the 2nd best skier on the mountain (behind me), parking lot dangers associated with pogo sticks, and kegstands. The host(s) are not responsible for any injuries, losses, damages, or incidents that may occur. Please drink responsibly (21+), have a DD, ski/ride within your abilities, and follow all mountain rules. Attendance constitutes acceptance of these terms.
