I (Lydia) fell in love with mathematical modeling after reading 'The Unilateralist’s Curse', got a lot out of skimming 'Whole Brain Emulation', & am still working out how to reconcile 'Astronomical Waste' with the rest of my world.
I'm interested in the impact such readings can have on our work and our lives. I think lots in them are mind-bending / mind-expanding. And I heard a good success criterion recently -- 'to have ideas we wouldn't just talking to an LLM.’
Also — we are aiming for this to be a small, experimental group. Who knows what the future holds!
