We’re heading to the annual Swedish Midsummer celebration at the Sylvan Theater on the National Mall for a night of flower crowns, dancing, live music, and peak “European summer” energy. Hosted by the Embassy of Sweden, this free event celebrates one of Sweden’s biggest traditions, the summer solstice, with maypole dancing, wreath making, performances, games, and a giant picnic lawn under the Washington Monument. Bring: - A picnic blanket - Your most summery outfit/vibes - A SUMMER-THEMED FOOD to share with the group! Think fruit, pasta salad, chips & dip, little sandwiches, desserts, strawberries, summer-adjacent snacks, etc. Lean into the sunshine picnic aesthetic. The event is , free, and very much designed for lounging around outside together while pretending we’re in Scandinavia for the evening. Last year apparently thousands of people came out, so expect a fun crowd and lots of midsummer chaos. We’ll frolic, eat great snacks, dance around a maypole like we know what we’re doing, and celebrate the longest days of the year together
