Rooted in tradition and embracing the influences of California and the Filipino diaspora, Justin's food expresses the beauty in the fluidity of cuisine and how it changes from generation to generation. Kawali Made is a love letter to all the home cooks that raised him. Andrew Pang (a child of Chinese immigrants and Bay Area-native) and co-founder, Dennis “Conrad” Johnson (a child of Sierra-Leonian immigrants, and long-time resident of SF) have formed a collective called "The Children of Diaspora". Their mission is deeply rooted in bridging communities by celebrating, appreciating and creating a deeper understanding of others’ cultures, especially ones that aren’t highlighted in the mainstream. Together, as "The Children of Diaspora", they curate experiences that resonate with both the traditional and the modern.
