Join us for the first North Bay Dance of Relating workshop with Lotus, a playfully insightful workshop combining somatic therapy, ecstatic dance, partner dance, conscious relating, and depth psychology. The Dance of Relating is an all-levels initiation into deepening connection with self and other on the dance floor and beyond. Our bodies are coded with an innate wisdom or "embodiment technology" to express our own unique essence. Unlike a structured dance modality, this practice helps you expand your intuitive movement repertoire becoming even more authentic, confident, and attuned with others. This practice supports insight rooted in depth psychology acknowledging that we experience mirrors of our own inner patterns in relating with others giving us greater awareness and choice in shifting patterns. As above, so below... Unlike loud dance floors or nonverbal spaces where we're left guessing how partner or contact dance lands for others, we integrate playful partner exercises to balance the embodied experience with words of impact and empathy. No matter how comfortable you are with dance and contact, you will become even more empowered and comfortable dancing with others from this practice. We will explictly practice personal empowerment and attunement in support of a conscious consent culture, and platonic touch in partner dance is optional but not required. We celebrate you consciously expressing and choosing your "yes" and your "no" in each moment! The awareness and connections seeded in the Dance of Relating inevitably ripple onto the dance floor, your relationships, and your life creating an even more cohesive, unified group field of connection.
