MANO — Post-Production Fundraiser
MANO is a Brooklyn film about Nelson Diaz — a former Olympic boxer turned neighborhood barber — who gets pulled back into the ring after immigration enforcement takes someone from his block.
What starts as a personal problem becomes something bigger. A fight for someone who can’t fight for themselves.
We shot the film across Bushwick with a small crew — in the barbershops, gyms, and bodegas that already exist here, with the people who run them.
On Saturday, April 4, we’re getting together to help finish the film.
The night includes:
• First trailer screening
• Conversation with cast and crew
• DJs and artists performing music from the original soundtrack
• Behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the film
• Merch giveaways (stickers, keychains, tees, hats and more)
• Swag bags for donors
Funds from the night go directly toward finishing the film and getting it out into the world:
• Picture editing
• Sound design and mix
• Color grading
• Marketing and festival campaign
• Final delivery and distribution materials
MANO is being made by queer and BIPOC filmmakers telling a story about the communities they live in.
This night helps push the film over the finish line.
