Join us for a Kwentuhan, a community based research study for Jersey City Filipino and Filipino-Americans. Pakikipagkwentuhan is an indigenous method of sharing culture and values through informal dialogue. We hope to bring this technique into the modern day to not only preserve our culture, but to recognize our struggles and highlight our growth. This is a pilot program in collaboration with FilExcellence, Narra Collective, and researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. We hope to create a space for conversations about lived experiences while we explore our shared identity, struggles, and hopes while creating your own path. The event will include a welcome mixer, Kwentuhan questions in small groups, and then a whole group discussion. Join us for an evening of free refreshments, sharing stories, and community October 9th 10 am - 12 pm at 333 Washington st. FL3. Note: This event as part of a research study requires consent to both participate in the research questions and included in audio and/or video recording. All information will be kept confidential and anonymous for academic purposes by the research team only.
