This Ramadan, we’re raising funds for the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA, Zakat-eligible!) to provide urgent aid to children and families in Gaza. Throughout the month, Bay Area run clubs are coming together with a shared goal: raise $20,000 to support emergency medical care, clean water, food, and psychological support for families facing unimaginable conditions. We have gotten confirmation from MECA that this Ramadan fundraiser is Zakat eligible, so if you are doing your annual zakat, please consider donating some to this Ramadan fundraiser and help us hit our goal!! To close out Ramadan, we’ll gather on Sunday March 29 for a community run followed by coffee and sweets at Jaffa Coffee in Berkeley. Whether you run, walk, donate, or just show up in support, you’re part of this. Jaffa will be donating 10% of all beverages and pastry sales to MECA. If you’re able, please donate and share.
