ParaKalam Labs is a community arts research workshop using Kalamkari (a South Indian textile craft and narrative art form) as a design methodology for documenting environmental and social injustice. Participants will design speculative biomaterials on paper, create original Kalamkari climate illustrations, and contribute their work to a growing community research archive exploring circular design solutions and biomaterial use cases. Youth will explore sustainable and circular design for South Asian textiles. All work enters a real research study. Free to attend. All ages welcome. Suggested donation is $15 for all materials used in the workshop per participant.
