Join Bham Racial Justice (formerly Bham SURJ) for an online discussion of the book Hammer & Hoe: Alabama Communists During the Great Depression, by Dr. Robin D.G. Kelley. Hammer and Hoe chronicles the amazing but largely forgotten history of the courageous labor and radical organizing that went on in rural and urban Alabama, and in Birmingham in particular, during the 1930s, is greatly needed by us today to inform and inspire the struggles we currently face. **If you'd like to support Burdock - books will be available to purchase at Cha House by August 6. The gathering is called Advancing Alabama Labor History, and will take place at the Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities.
