Join Us for a Vigil and Community Healing Experience in Memory of Sam Nordquist
On Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 1 PM to 4 PM at The Village Worcester (4 King Street, Worcester, MA), we will gather in remembrance of Sam Nordquist, a beloved Black trans man whose life was stolen by an abhorrent act of violence. Sam was a cherished son, friend, and community member whose presence brought light and strength to those around him.
This gathering will offer space for collective grief, healing, and action. The event will include a letter-writing activity to express love, solidarity, and remembrance for Sam’s community, followed by remarks from speakers reflecting on the Black trans experience. Together, we will engage in a collective community scream, releasing our pain, rage, and love into the universe.
The event will conclude with small group wellness spaces to foster connection and healing. These spaces will include licensed clinicians, Reiki practitioners, acupuncture, and interfaith-led talk circles, offering multiple paths for support and restoration.
This event honors Sam Nordquist and centers Black trans lives. We welcome all in our community to join us in solidarity.
If you would like to support Sam’s family, an optional GoFundMe link is available in the event RSVP form.
Let us come together in grief, in love, and in unwavering solidarity.
