🥐 Started from the Shtetl, now we’re here. Your invitation to an East Side Bakery Crawl! 🥯
Howdy East Siders!
Join me - David, NuRoots East Side Creator - for a Sunday morning stroll through Highland Park. It might be one of LA's hippest neighborhoods today, but underneath that dope veneer is a rich Jewish history waiting to be uncovered—one delicious bite at a time.
We’ll taste our way through the streets, visiting historical landmarks and new Jewish businesses alike. Along the way, we'll dive into the fascinating history of the neighborhood and learn how the pastries we love connect all the way back to the Shtetls of Eastern Europe.
🗺️ The Game Plan
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Walk, learn, and snack on iconic East Side treats.
The Finish Line: We’ll end in a central hub packed with shops and cafes, leaving you perfectly set up to explore Highland Park on your own.
📝 Important Details
The Route: We are *not* ending where we start! Be prepared for about a 15-minute walk back to your car at the end.
Dietary Needs: Please make sure to fill out the questionnaire if you have any dietary restrictions or special requirements so we can accommodate you. Thanks!
🥨 Note on the Nosh: Do not skip breakfast or arrive starving! While we’ll be enjoying some delicious bites and pastries along the way, it’s meant to keep us comfortably sated, not completely stuffed. You’re more than welcome to purchase extra snacks as we go, but we’ll be pacing ourselves to make sure everyone stays happy, energized, and ready to roll!
