Most security systems are designed to protect data, but they weren’t designed for people. As AI blurs the line between human and machine interaction, the lack of human-centric design is becoming a liability. Join us for an afternoon led by a powerhouse team of women in design as we bridge the gap between complex security and intuitive user experience.
Heidi Trost, acclaimed human-centered design author and speaker, is joined by fellow VIA UI/UX experts, Annvie Nguyen and Courtney Brillhart, for a deep dive into how AI can transform security from a "barrier" into a seamless, personal experience.
This is a hands-on design workshop where we’ll explore how VIA leverages AI to simplify high-stakes data workflows without compromising protection. As NSA experts have told us, great security exists. The issue is when it's too cumbersome so people choose to ignore it.
What’s in store:
The workshop: Learn actionable AI-design frameworks to make military-grade security feel human
The "build your own ice cream sandwich" bar: To bring the concept of "individual fit" to life, engineer your own custom ice cream sandwich. Choose your base, your "encryption" (toppings), and your "core" (flavor)
Book signing: Snag a copy of Heidi’s latest book, Human- Centered Security: How to Design Systems That Are Both Safe and Usable, and get it signed in person!
Career networking: Interested in the future of design and AI? Explore open job opportunities and life at VIA
Happy hour: Stick around from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM for drinks to celebrate Boston Tech Week with the community
This event is a part of #BosTechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.
