How well do you know your neighborhood across time and taste? Allston-Brighton has a long and rich history in supporting food access, including a key role in feeding the American Revolution 250 years ago. During this 6-part series, you will learn how this neighborhood has led the way in the past through food, where we are today, and get a sense of where we are going along with how to make a difference in shaping it.
This Thursday 8-9am session will be an express ~30 minute walking tour around the Allstonway / ERC area, finishing with a funded breakfast at Phin on Western Ave (inside the Treehouse). We may also make our way through the future Allstonway by the SEC arboretum
After we conclude, check out the serene 1959 Chapel at Harvard Business School, or the public exhibit on Muriel Siebert at the HBS Baker Library. Or, join a small group continuing on across the river to the Schlesinger Library for 9:30 or so, to see the exhibit "Cooking Up Change: Women’s Agency and Community Building Through Cookbooks".
If you want to buy drinks, additional food, or to top the food businesses we go to, you are of course welcome to!
It’s necessary that you RSVP so we have a head count and know if any needs for allergies or otherwise, and if you change plans and cannot make it, please update your response so that others from the waitlist may take your spot.
If you can't make it, be sure to go enjoy local businesses here on other days! Look for a forthcoming digital companion “self-guided tour” on our website and social media at ABFoodToursBoston.
Share with a friend and see you there!
