Join us on February 26th at 6:30 p.m. at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden for a talk with Dr. William Grant Morton. Dr. William Grant Morton is a dedicated botanist and conservationist with a profound passion for nature. He holds a Ph.D. in Botany with a specialization in Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has devoted his career to the study and preservation of rare and endangered orchids. Before joining The Jewish Leadership Academy in Miami, where he now continues his conservation efforts, Dr. Morton made significant contributions to advancing orchid conservation techniques at the Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Micropropagation and Conservation Seed Bank Laboratories. He will share insights on these techniques and discuss his current conservation endeavors.
The evening will begin at 6:30 pm with our “Orchid Rx” session. Following that we’ll have “Orchid Show and Tell” where you can bring in any orchids you’re proud of and share your growing techniques with the group. We can’t wait to see you!
This event is free for members of the Miami Beach Orchid Society. Our annual dues are $30 and can be paid in person at the meeting with cash or Zelle.
