Where Robotics Meets Heart - Embedding Family Values in a Future with AI #LATechWeek

The next wave of AI will be embodied—humanoid robots and home companions are moving from science fiction to family reality. The global humanoid robot market is projected to reach USD 15.26 billion by 2030, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 39.2%. 80% of parents had concerns about harmful effects of AI in education, and 85% of parents support stricter AI controls for children under 13. As AI becomes embodied in our homes and classrooms, LLM's will play an integral role in the upbringing of our children and future AI-driven consumer products will demand rich, human-centric datasets to train empathetic interactions. The question we need to ask is how will we align AI values with our own - especially when it comes to raising our kids.
Join us for an open panel discussion and Q&A hosted by Trove founder Daniel Feltsman, Harvard Researcher and Founder of Mindfulbytes Michael Davis, and father, philosopher and technologist Rafael Mojden - Director of Public Private Partnerships at the Puerto Rican Blockchain Trade Association. We will discuss the technical and emotional challenges of creating family-aligned AI systems that can navigate the delicate balance between technological capability and human values. We'll examine real-world applications where humanoid robots are already interacting with children and families, from educational settings to healthcare, and explore how which companies are pioneering methods to capture and embed authentic family wisdom into AI training datasets. The conversation will address practical questions about privacy, data ownership, and the critical 24-month window we have to establish family-centric AI standards before the industry solidifies around less human-centered approaches.
Let's explore how robotics can amplify rather than replace the heart of family connection, ensuring that as AI becomes more prevalent in our daily lives, it serves to strengthen rather than erode the bonds that make us human. This isn't just about building smarter robots—it's about building robots that understand what makes each family unique and precious.
