How to Save Cell Therapy #SFTechWeek

Hosted by ImmuneBridge

:)
Cell therapies burst onto the scene as the latest and greatest cancer cure, shocking clinicians and researchers with their powerful efficacy and equally powerful toxicity. VCs raced to invest, and countless companies were formed offering the newest and fanciest CAR or the smartest logic gating synthetic biology could produce. Then the clinical data started trickling in, and investors pulled back. What did we learn from the first boom-bust cycle of cell therapy, and how can we save it - and the patients who need it? Please join us for a happy hour and panel discussion in our warehouse laboratory. This event is a part of #TechWeek - a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. https://www.tech-week.com/ Panel Speakers: Catherine Blish, MD, PhD, studies the astounding interpersonal genomic diversity underlying NK cell receptors and their signaling. She is interested in the uses of allogeneic cell therapy as a potential cure for HIV. Zinaida Good, PhD, leverages data science and machine learning to understand causes of cell therapy success or failure in patients. She is primarily focused on the uses of T cell therapy as cancer cures. Sarah Lensch, PhD is a synthetic biologist at Arsenal Bio who uses high-throughput screening to optimize cells for solid tumors. Her specialty is designing and testing logic gates to improve the living intelligence of therapies. Nina Horowitz, PhD is an immunologist and bioengineer who studies natural killer cells and their innate ability to modulate and eradicate tumors. Her company uses donor screening to identify optimal cell sources for allogeneic therapies. Shannon Dahl, PhD is an expert on all stages of cell therapy development, from R&D through regulatory filing and reimbursement negotiations. She has served as a founder, CSO, business advisor, and SAB member for multiple companies and now offers fractional CSO/CBO services to several biotech companies through her role as CEO of Carve Bio. Schedule of events: 5:30-6:00pm – guests arrive 6:00-7:00pm – panel discussion 7:00-8:00pm – network & make new friends! Please note that street parking is very limited.
