Speakers
Moderator — Nazar Gulyk, GSB (Stanford Forbes)
linkedin.com/in/gulyk
Nazar brings experience at the intersection of business, innovation, and technology. He is part of Stanford GSB and Forbes network, focusing on entrepreneurship and wearable healthtech.
Seamus Thomson, PhD — Senior Research Scientist, Google
Talk: *Wearables and AI: From Earth to Mars*
Seamus explores how AI-powered wearables enhance human health and performance — from daily applications on Earth to the challenges of space exploration on Mars. With over a decade leading interdisciplinary R&D across academia and industry, he focuses on scalable health technologies and biosignal interpretation using AI/ML.
Nil Z. Gurel, PhD — Senior Research Scientist, Meta
Talk: *Why Your Biosignals Don’t Scale Without Context*
Nil’s work bridges flexible biosensing, signal processing, and AI to decode complex physiological states. Her research covers vagus nerve stimulation, stress biomarkers, and multimodal sensing. She has published extensively and received awards from NIH, NSF, IEEE, and NextFlex.
Davide Zhang, MDes — Technical Product Designer, Microsoft
Talk: *Prototyping Wearables: From Haptics to Spatial Interactions*
Davide leads mixed reality prototyping on the Windows + Devices Design & Research team at Microsoft. He brings workflows to spatial computing form factors, and has collaborated with MIT Media Lab on lightweight XR haptic gloves. He holds dual master’s degrees in design studies and architecture from Harvard.
