** We will be accepting donations for the Frenchtown Food Pantry at the show. They have been low on supply and recently visits to the pantry have increased. Please bring shelf stable foods :)
Come celebrate the release of CLOVER’s Debut EP, Atlas. Join us for a sweet spring day at Sunbeam Park with vulnerable storytelling, group singing, freedom of expression, and catharsis. Mackenzie Johnson & Dani Sundream will be opening up the show and Perfect Day Cafe will be selling drinks! Bring your dancing pants and some tissues… you will most likely need them both.
CLOVER is a singer-songwriter from Frenchtown, NJ blending the genres of folk, pop, and soul. Inspired by the likes of Lake Street Dive, Maggie Rogers, and Carole King, she puts the energy of the 60s and 70s in conversation with contemporary music creating a sound that resonates across generations. From energetic and explosive groove-driven songs that get you on your feet, to songs that bring you to your knees in tears, CLOVER touches on topics of love, grief, sovereignty, confidence, and spirituality.
A bit about Atlas:
Recorded at Electric Lady Studios in NYC with chief engineer and producer John Rooney (past projects include Taylor Swift, Yebba, Norah Jones, Jon Batiste, Clairo, Remi Wolf, and so many others), Daniel Fresco, and Dani Sundream.
From start to finish, the EP feels like a psychedelic whirlwind, touching on themes of love, grief, addiction, and the surreal yet beautiful experiences CLOVER had during the pandemic (falling in love, living in a tent for 4 months, busking on streets around the country while venues were closed, etc).
Inspired by Atlas, the Greek God who was forced to hold the heavens up for eternity, CLOVER wrote these songs due to feeling an overwhelming responsibility to hold the chaos of her family life in tandem with the weight of the rest of the world.
This EP is a narrative on grappling with holding chaos and deciding to what extent holding that chaos is truly our responsibility.
