This is the first edition of Roda de Samba Raiz, a new monthly gathering bringing the real, unfiltered spirit of Brazilian samba to Los Angeles. Long before samba filled arenas, it lived in circles, friends, musicians, and neighbors gathering shoulder to shoulder, one guitar and a pandeiro enough to start the night. No stage, no separation between who plays and who dances. Everyone's inside the roda, or one song away from being pulled in.
