Andddddd we're bringing back open air line dancing for July! Welcome to our Social Summer Series where we hang and socialize every summer month on the 4th Thursday. Make new friends, loosen up the hips and enjoy the sunset view from LES with us. With Broome/Orchard streets closed via the City's Open Streets program, we will get to enjoy the warm summer nights outside our shop during these events. July's Programming: - It was so successful that we're bringing back our open air line dancing lesson outside our shop on Broome street. This time it’ll be led by Sugarfoot from Buck Wild!! We'll learn a few dances together and will carefully curate the tunes to make sure you'll be feeling yo self. Amazing for entry-level dancers while a good groove for our returners. - This event will also be co-hosted with Friends of Friends, a new social gathering curated by humans where new connections happen in person and start with your friends! How FoF events work: A host invites their people & everyone is required to bring a friend. Sooo plus ones are highly encouraged for this event! Dust off your boots. Text that friend. And come enjoy a summer night with TCP. Schedule: 6:00-7:00PM Drinks in the shop to warm up the hips. Socialize with new and old friends. 7:00-8:30PM Line dancing outside our shop on Broome st! (We'll have stools to sit outside in case you rather watch) Please note RSVPs will get you a stamp for drinks in the shop. :) Plus ones don't need to RSVP. In the event the weather doesn't cooperate we will have a plan B to make sure the dancing still happens! See you all soon <3 About Buck Wild: Buck Wild is a queer, Filipinx, women-owned weekly line dance party in Williamsburg, hosted by Sugarfoot and Spitfire. It’s a space built around community, movement, music, and the liberating sense of finding your way back into your body without taking yourself too seriously. We line dance to country classics, girly pop bangers, and everything in between, structured enough that you can learn, loose enough that you can actually have fun. The vibe is warm, playful, and a little unhinged in the best way. About Sugarfoot: Sugarfoot is a french-filipinx line dance instructor, choreographer, and founder of Buck Wild -- a twice-weekly queer line dance event co-run with her counterpart Spitfire at Desert 5 Spot in Brooklyn. Her original choreography has gained laurels at Wrangler Weekend, The Edge and Sunshine N' Line, winning 3rd place for her dances When Did You Get Hot? and DIME, and 2nd place for her dance Babygirl. After performing at Stagecoach and Austin City Limits last year, she opened for Shaboozey at Terminal 5 where Buck Wild performed and debuted original choreography Travel On in collaboration with country DJs MC4D. She continues to host and guest teach workshops with fellow queer events and choreographers, but is mostly found dancing locally, gaily enveloped by her community.
