🦪 MODELS BUILD THE REEF Billion Oyster Project x The Supermodel Project Join The Supermodel Project and Billion Oyster Project on July 9th for a hands-on volunteer day helping restore New York Harbor. Did you know New York Harbor was once home to one of the largest oyster reef ecosystems in the world? Today, Billion Oyster Project is working to restore oyster populations that help support marine life, strengthen shorelines, and improve water quality throughout the harbor. During this volunteer event on Governors Island, we’ll work alongside Billion Oyster Project staff helping prepare materials used in oyster reef restoration efforts throughout New York Harbor. Activities may include cleaning and sorting oyster shells, maintaining shell piles, helping fabricate reef structures, and assisting with other restoration projects that support oyster habitats and marine life. Every task plays an important role in helping restore New York Harbor’s historic oyster population. This event is open to models, creatives, industry professionals, and friends of The Supermodel Project who want to make a positive impact while connecting with a community of purpose-driven people. Come meet new people, learn something new, get your hands dirty, and be part of one of New York City’s most ambitious environmental restoration projects. 📅 July 9, 2026 📍 Governors Island, New York Harbor ⏰ 12:15 PM – 5:00 PM Please wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or wet. Bring a reusable water bottle and a snack. All tools, gloves, safety equipment, and training will be provided.
