Studio Stories: Take pART in an evening of reflection
The Arts + Culture Alliance invites you to slow down, reflect, and connect during an inspiring evening designed to bring our community together through storytelling, music, and meaningful conversation.
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, join us for Studio Stories, featuring Marshalltown native Zachariah Thompson, Founder and Executive Director of The Scatter Joy Project. Through his work, Zach connects mental health, creativity, and community by creating spaces where storytelling and artistic expression foster healing and belonging.
Zach will be joined by artist Blake Kasemeier—a writer, visual content creator, and creative director—who will share his personal stories of reflection and growth with our community. The event will also feature live music, highlighting a local musician.
This special event is presented in partnership with YSS. Admission is free and open to the public. Free-will donations are encouraged, with all proceeds supporting YSS’s mental health programs.
Guests are invited to explore a youth art gallery showcasing pieces created at YSS through a collaborative partnership with the Arts + Culture Alliance. The artwork highlights creativity as a powerful tool for healing and self-discovery.
Light appetizers and refreshments will be served. Please note, this event is geared towards teenagers and adults.
