◕‿↼Decentered Studio is thrilled to present the works of Nikolas Larson aka @Chalkvisions for his solo show Magusfusion
$10 suggested donation to support the music and photography but no one is turned away for lack of funds.
The evening will feature an aritst talk from Nickolas light refreshments and cozy vibes.
Musical Guest: Sherbet Collective is a musical collective that draws on the rich sound and mystical messages of Turkish Sufi Music traditions. Like the traditional Middle Eastern sherbet drink that symbolizes spiritual sweetness, nourishment, and enlightenment - with a heartfelt connection to the spiritual essence of the music, the group creates timeless, soul-stirring experiences. They will take you on a journey where ancient wisdom meets the present moment, inviting all to lose themselves in the beauty and profound world of sound and devotion. Nikolas Larson is a San Francisco based artist working in the mediums of chalk, ink and paint. Known on a community level for colorful chalk murals in the mission district made under the name "chalkvisions", his work lies at the intersection of art nouveau, geometry and mythology. Larson draws from mysticism, futurism and fashion in paintings, drawings and murals. Educated in the crafts of drawing and painting, he went on to graduate with a degree in graphic design from the Art Institute of Seattle. A wide range of disciplines inform his worldview: photography, literature, science fiction and comics. You can find an archive of his chalk designs at his blog, chalkvisions on blogspot.
