An embroidery event where we’ll be making mini wall hangings and art pieces from your favorite photos or creating stitch collages to use when your hands (or head) need something to do. Great for insomnia, anxiety or any other restless moments. What you make is up to you. Either way, you’ll walk away with something to look at or something to do when you need a little distraction from ~*all this*~. All supplies included in the ticket prices, plus a custom print. More details below: If you’ve ever wanted to be a side character in a Jane Austen movie, killing time doing embroidery but without the skill, this is the event for you. I wanted to embroider some of my photography without actually taking the time to struggle and learn how, so I printed some of my favorite images on fabric, got a needle, thread, and some beads, and just figured it out. and I think that’s how crafts and hobbies should be. no expectations, just something you’re curious about and the materials to do it. we'll be doing a light demo on some deeply basic embroidery techniques, and then you'll have two hours to bead and embellish your custom images or any fabric prints and scraps we provide. if you rsvp and purchase any ticket you can send me a high-res image and I will print it on fabric for you to embroider. just please send up to 4 hours before the event if possible :) because there's more materials and time involved, i'm trying tickets, but here's everything you get: general tickets (sliding scale $15-20) include the custom print, an embroidery hoop, needles, threads of all colors, all beads and embellishments, as well as additional fabric prints and scraps to work with, and a pouch to take home any extra thread and beads. ($30) tickets include all the above, plus any drink from the bar on us. Imagine if Victorians could’ve had a margarita or mocktail while they embroidered their lives away. ($40) tickets include all the above, plus an order from the sandwich shop, ie a burger and fries or whatever you want because it’s dinner time and crafting makes people hungry. since we're doing a bit of a demo, we’ll start right around 4:30, but if you come later I'll answer any questions and you’ll still have plenty of time. plus, we’ll have fabric glue for anyone whose hands shake (hi!) or who doesn’t have the patience to master a new skill in one night. reach out to hello@thebetterclub.org with any questions and with your image to print! xx
