Join artist and facilitator Roji Maharjan (they/them) for the second workshop of Sun & Stitch, a day of art, community, and collective making at Clifton Place Memorial Garden. In this hands-on embroidery workshop, we’ll be introduced to the many possibilities of embroidery as an art form. Roji will share their practice, introduce different embroidery techniques, and guide participants through creating their own small embroidered piece. No prior embroidery experience is needed. Whether you’re completely new to stitching or already familiar with a needle and thread, this workshop is an opportunity to slow down, learn something new, and make alongside others. We’ll spend time getting grounded together, learning about Roji’s practice, and exploring the history and possibilities of embroidery before diving into hands-on making. Roji will demonstrate a few techniques and then offer guidance as everyone works on their own piece. This workshop is part of Sun & Stitch, a series of workshops bringing artists, plants, craft, and community together at Clifton Place Memorial Garden.
