Bring layered clothes; it’s cold in the streets but it gets hot on the dance floor! Avoid wearing high-heeled shoes or shoes with grippy soles; it helps to stay low to the floor and to be able to glide on the wood.

🚨‼️ IMPORTANT: Beginning in September, these events are moving to the SECOND SUNDAYS of the month, with occasional exceptions for holidays, and start ONE HOUR EARLIER (5-9pm). Please update your calendars. ‼️🚨 🇮🇪 Have you ever been moved by the sound of real Irish music and just felt like dancing? There’s an exciting new Irish partner dancing event in San Francisco, combining welcoming lessons with the joy of dancing to live music. 📆 We meet on the second Sunday of every month. (For certain holidays, we move to the 1st or 3rd Sunday; check this page for details.) 🗣️ At 5:00pm (SHARP!), we begin with clear, supportive instruction designed to bring brand-new dancers comfortably onto the floor. 💃 At 6:00pm, once everyone is moving, we transition to dancing to live traditional Irish music played by a rotating cast of musicians who bring energy, lift, and variety to each evening. 🎻 Tonight’s live band will be Ceol Sa Cheo! This night is intentionally inclusive: ☘️ newcomers learning their first steps ☘️ experienced dancers enjoying the drive of live music ⏰ If you’ve never done Irish partner dance, make sure to arrive before 5pm so you don’t miss the start of the lesson. We squeeze a lot into an hour and nothing is taught after 6pm! 👯 Come on your own or with friends. No partner required – we’ll form groups on the floor. 🅿️ Parking is VERY difficult in this neighborhood. Please arrive 20-30 minutes early to find a space (seriously). We recommend you carpool or take public transit instead. Check this space later in the month for details on what sets are being danced… 💰 Cost: $10+ requested donation to the musicians.
