If you can talk to a book, do you still need to read it? If AI learns from an author's work, who should get paid?
Join authors, readers and people building the future of media for a Jubilee-inspired debate on books, media and AI. Five claims. Five defenders. One big circle.
HOW IT WORKS
Each claim has a defender chosen before the event. A timer starts, and challengers take turns in the seat across from them. The outer circle raises red flags when it's time for a fresh voice; a majority sends the challenger out and someone new tags in. When time runs out, a new defender takes on the next claim. We close by sharing the arguments that changed our minds.

THE FIVE CLAIMS
1. Talking to an AI version of a book can be more valuable than reading it.
2. Authors should be paid whenever AI uses their work, even if it never quotes a sentence.
3. An AI trained on an author's work should be allowed to give advice the author never wrote.
4. Personalized AI media will make us less curious, not more informed.
5. When a story moves us, whether a human or AI wrote it shouldn't matter.
You don't need to be an AI expert. Come ready to defend a position, challenge one, or change your mind.
