LINK TO OUR DISCORD: https://discord.gg/56xwsTeGAX Castro Community Outreach Walk: Help Spread the Word About a Free Eating Disorder Support Group Join us for a community walk through the Castro as we visit local businesses and community spaces to help spread the word about a free, therapist-led, in-person eating disorder support group in San Francisco. Eating disorders are among the psychiatric illnesses with the highest mortality rates, yet many people don’t know that free, in-person support groups like this even exist. LGBTQ+ communities, BIPOC communities, yoqung adults, and people of all genders are only some of the communities at risk of developing eating disorders, and no one should have to recover in isolation. We’ll be dropping off flyers, talking with local businesses, and helping make sure this resource reaches the people who need it most. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to meet new people, connect with others who care about mental health and community, and be part of building something that’s often missing in eating disorder recovery: a sense of belonging. One of my favorite parts of this new adventure has been meeting people and hearing their stories. Whether you’re in recovery, supporting a loved one, work in mental health, or simply want to help strengthen our community, we’d love to have you join us. Let’s help make sure this support group stays available—and that the people who need it know where to find it.
