LOS ANGELES, CA — House of CoHit is pleased to announce Sometimes, why?, a group exhibition curated by Sebastian Rosen. Bringing together a diverse group of contemporary artists, the exhibition explores the complex landscapes of memory, anticipation, and emotional history. The exhibition opens with a public reception on Friday, June 26, and will remain on view through July 31, 2026.
Sometimes, why? centers on the concept of circling sentimentality. The participating artists delve into the human tendency to long for the past, navigating both positive and painful memories. The works on view examine the act of reflecting on bygone eras while simultaneously projecting hope, anxiety, and aspiration into an uncertain future.
Through varying mediums and scales, the exhibition investigates the shared threads of prosperity, familial struggle, and the universal search for comfort. Together, the artists in Sometimes, why? confront the bittersweet nature of nostalgia. They question not only why we look back, but how our collective longing shapes our vision of what lies ahead.
