I AM UNSEXY. AND I LIKE IT: The Passion Projects of Founders Who Build What They Love What if the next great business isn’t another app? During a week drowning in AI, agents, SaaS and LLMs, we’re asking a different question: What are founders building when they stop chasing what’s cool — and start building what they love? Farms. Factories. Food. Fashion. Art. Materials. Energy. We’re bringing together founders who are building successful, profitable and scalable businesses in the physical world — businesses you can touch, taste, wear, use and experience. Founders who saw an opportunity others overlooked. Who followed an obsession. Who built something because they wanted to and figured out how to make serious money doing it. They’ll share the stories behind the businesses, the bets they made, what surprised them, what actually worked and why they believe some of the biggest opportunities ahead may be hiding far away from another screen. What happens when technology becomes the enabler, not the product? What can software founders learn from people building farms, factories and brands? Where are the overlooked opportunities? And can you build something you love — and still build a fortune? No AI buzzwords. No pitch decks. No “disruption” for the sake of it. Just founders, their obsessions and businesses that are very real. Come curious. Leave inspired to build something that’s yours. Highly unconventional. Highly tangible. Highly unsexy. Location and further details will be shared upon approval. Curated by TiE Mumbai as part of SF Tech Week. This event is a part of #SFTechWeek—a week of events hosted by VCs and startups to bring together the tech ecosystem. Learn more at www.tech-week.com.
