Nicolas Dessaigne co-founded Algolia, joined Y Combinator's Winter 2014 batch and served as CEO as the company grew from a small team to 350 employees. Today, Algolia provides search infrastructure for developers worldwide and is valued at over $2 billion.
As a General Partner at Y Combinator, Nicolas has conducted over 3,000 office hours across 9 batches, working closely with early-stage startups. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Nantes.
Nicolas will share his experiences building and scaling Algolia, including:
- Early challenges and key decisions in the startup's development
- Lessons learned about growth, fundraising, and working with investors
- Building company culture while scaling rapidly
- Practical advice for getting the most out of the YC program
