The East Bay Permaculture Guild is partnering with the Oakland Peace Center for a community garden work day on 8/23. The Oakland Peace Center Gardens are community-ran edible+medicinal garden projects housed around the Peace Center. They share fresh food with OPC neighbors, Wood St. Commons, and organizations serving unhoused community members. The East Bay Permaculture Guild and friends have been partnering with OPC to steward a portion of the garden space for the past few months.
This month we will be doing some general garden upkeep, discussing our harvesting/distribution system for produce, and possibly doing some soil amendment in the garden beds. As we wind down the work party, we may be hosting a skill share—stay tuned for more info!
On the agenda:
- Water and Weed 💧
- Tend to/prune overgrown plants ✂️
- Harvest! 🍅🥬🍓🌿
- Set up produce available produce in mutual aid cabinet🪧
