Wildlife, architecture, monuments and history; 7x7: A Ceramaganza at Aquatic Park is a celebration of all things San Francisco. Artists around the Bay were prompted to submit ceramic work about what the city means to them with the restriction that pieces be no larger than 7”x 7”x 7”. The title, 7x7, is a reference to San Francisco’s unique size - 7 miles by 7 miles.
The works throughout the gallery capture the city’s beauty as well as its imperfections: usual and unusual, metaphorical or real, general and personal. Whether you’ve lived in the city for decades or are exploring for the first time, we hope you find something familiar among the pieces.
About the Juror: Sarah Duyer
Sarah Duyer is a San Francisco based ceramic artist, illustrator, and zine maker. Sarah's functional ceramics draw inspiration from the texture and architectural lines of the city, creating geometric shapes with playful designs. All pieces are thrown, carved, and decorated by hand at Fog City Ceramics studio in the Mission.
