🌱 Casual Community Night + Potluck 🌱
Welcome to EBPG’s February meeting — our relaxed, “off-month” hangout. We alternate between guest speaker nights and open, community-led evenings, and this month is all about connection, sharing, and weaving together.
🕕 6:00–6:30 PM
Potluck dinner + arrivals. Bring a dish if you can (please label allergens). Hot plates OK, no stove use.
🌀 6:30–8:30 PM
Announcements, discussion, and emergent conversations.
This is an freeform-space style evening — if you want to discuss something, just name it and gather folks. Topics often include things like gardening, composting systems, disaster preparedness, land access, alternative economies, mutual aid, seed saving, or projects you’re actively working on.
✨ Expect:
★ Community announcements — needs, offers, events, and invitations
★ Project networking — connect with others doing permaculture work across the East Bay
★ Self-organized conversations — practical, political, visionary, grounded
★ Relationship-building — neighbors, organizers, gardeners, and changemakers
All experience levels welcome. This is a grassroots, justice-oriented space centering racial equity, land back, and collective resilience. Kiddo friendly!
📍 New Venue: Oakland Peace Center – Grace Room
(The building can be a maze; someone will be helping direct folks from 5:45-6:15p)
🌿 Garden partnership:
We're exploring a partnership with the Oakland Peace Center to support their medicinal/edible garden restoration – more details at the meeting!
✨ Helping out:
We're looking for volunteers for setup/cleanup, door greeting, photo documentation – sign up via spreadsheet below
We’ll leave the space better than we found it and wrap up around 8:30pm, with informal hanging and cleanup afterward.
