Date: Sunday September 20th Time: 11am-1pm. Plan to come by 11:30 to put your samples into the dye pot. No RSVP required. Makeshift Center at Standard Parts Studio 4425 Linden St Oakland September’s community dye day will be all about “bundle dyeing”, a method using steam to print / fix flowers to textiles for a variety of interesting surface design patterns. We provide small pre-mordanted* fabric for experimenting with, and folks are also welcome to bring small, pre-mordanted pieces (smaller than a pillow case) of any natural fibers (cotton/silk/linen/wool) as well. Community day days are an accessible monthly offering for learning and sharing knowledge about working with natural dyes. All experience levels are welcome.
