Please join us for a community celebration of life honoring our beloved friend, brother, and comrade, Marcus Zamani.
Marcus was a longtime part of a PLACE for sustainable living, GROW, Omni Commons and the sudo room community, and beyond. He wasa brilliant mind with a huge heart, and someone who built deep relationships across many different worlds. This gathering is a chance for all of us who knew him — from hackerspace folks to neighbors, healthcare advocates, spiritual practitioners, gardeners and beyond — to come together, remember him, and support one another.

Date: Saturday, July 25, 2026 (weekend after Marcus’s birthday)

Celebration Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (arrive a bit early if you can)
Omni Commons is an accessible, community-run space with deep significance in Marcus’s life, and we’re grateful to be able to gather there in his honor.
What to expect
This will be a celebration rather than a strictly formal service, with space for grief, joy, and stories in equal measure.

Time for informal mingling and connection
Optional practices like writing notes to Marcus, contributing to a collective shrine, or sharing memories at an open mic
You’re welcome whether you knew Marcus closely or only crossed paths a few times — if he touched your life, this space is for you.
How to participate
To help us plan:
RSVP: Click “Attend” / “Register” so we can estimate chairs, food, and accessibility needs.
Share a memory: If you’d like to speak or perform (e.g., a short story, poem, song, or reading), please note that in your RSVP or reach out to ajay directly.
Bring something if you’re able: Light potluck-style contributions (snacks, non-alcoholic drinks) are welcome but absolutely not required. Your presence is the priority.
If you have photos of Marcus, please bring printed copies or email them ahead of time so we can incorporate them into a slideshow or altar space.

Accessibility and COVID
The Omni Ballroom has step-free access via the main entrance; if you have specific access needs (mobility, sensory, health-related), please note them in your RSVP so we can plan accordingly. Masking is welcomed and encouraged for those who prefer it, and we’ll aim to keep good air circulation in the space.
