Bullsh*t on Bikeshare

Join me as I embark on a crazy journey to do my first Everest on a 50+ pound bikeshare bike. That is: 29,032 feet of climbing 🗻 Over 170 miles 🚴‍♂️ 56 laps 🔁 Target ride time of approximately 24 hours ⏰(including breaks) All on a 53.5 pound bike (more than three times the weight of a lightweight road bike) ⚖️ Support the ride by donating to support bike advocacy and safer streets for everyone. More details and donation link to come soon... 💸 Why❓ I want to show that don't need fancy clothes, a fancy bike, or a car in order to do crazy things on a bike. I love lightweight road bikes, gravel bikes, and going on adventures out of the city. But ever since my first experience with bike share in Stockholm in 2014, I have been fascinated with pushing the boundaries of what can be done with public bike systems. From long journeys to going up steep hills to riding to the airport to navigating the congestion rewards programs, I have logged over 4,000 miles on bikeshare since 2017-and that is just what I’ve shares on Strava. In total, I have been on bikeshare in three countries, and eight states. I’ve used it as my primary means of transportation on several trips to New York, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Chicago. To that end, I’m going to share some of my experiences, crazy rides, and experiences on bikeshare systems around the world (though for me, mostly in the SF Bay Area).
