🪩 It's time to say goodbye to 2024! What a year it's been. As we reflect on our journey at Partiful, we're feeling nostalgic, proud, and incredibly excited for what's next. Let's dive into a year of bold ideas, chaotic parties, and the moments that made 2024 one for the books.
Making Hosting Easier
This year, we doubled down on building tools that make hosting your events smoother, smarter, and more collaborative.
Find-a-Time: Take the guesswork (and 37 back-and-forth texts) out of scheduling. This tool lets hosts offer guests a selection of time slots, and everyone can vote on what works best. When the dust settles, you lock in the winning time and finally get the plans out of the group chat.
Org Profiles: A game-changer for collectives, groups and clubs. These profiles allow organizations to create dedicated Partiful accounts, add multiple admins, and post events right to your profile.
Android App: We brought free event planning to an entirely new audience when we launched our Android app earlier this year. And the best part — we won Google’s App of the Year!
#partiful-in-the-news
Fun lore: in our team Slack, there’s a channel called #partiful-in-the-news, where we keep track of every article, shoutout, and viral moment featuring Partiful. This year, that channel was busier than ever.
As Partiful continues to grow into the go-to way to host social events, we’ve leaned even further into the wild, unhinged spirit of modern partying. Whether it’s a DJ coffee pop-up or a corporate rave, Partiful supports whatever category-defying chaos you can dream up. We even went viral for letting people send their partners invites to dates, study sessions, and what they’re making for dinner — it’s the kind of energy that could only happen on Partiful.
The undisputed highlight of the year was the Timothée Chalamet Lookalike Competition we hosted in collaboration with creator Anthpo. It spiraled in the best way possible — suddenly, dozens of lookalike contests were popping up on Partiful for Dev Patel, Jeremy Allen White, Paul Mescal, Glen Powell, Jack Schlossberg, the list goes on. Before we knew it, Partiful had somehow become the unofficial home of Hollywood Doppelgänger Olympics.
In true Partiful fashion, when we jokingly tweeted about banning lookalike contests on Partiful, even that ended up in the news.
The Guest List
ICYMI, we launched something new on the community side: The Guest List. It’s our little corner of the internet dedicated to stretching attention spans and sparking better conversations about how we socialize. Think of it as your guide to more thoughtful, intentional, and actually doable hosting.
This year, we covered everything from How to Host Dinner in Your Apartment (because tiny spaces deserve big energy) to a behind-the-scenes look at Why We Built Our New DMs Feature to Why We Need Fuckbois. We’re looking forward to keeping these conversations going in 2025.
Our Community
As Partiful continues to grow, we have the chance to connect with incredible hosts from all ends of the party spectrum. Our community is the reason Partiful has become more than just an event planning tool — that’s why we’re always looking for ways to spotlight and celebrate the hosts who bring it all to life. Here’s how we brought you into the fold this year:
We launched a “Community Made” tab in our poster selector, making it easy to browse and use designs created by Partiful hosts themselves.
This year, we took community creativity to the streets with a wheatpaste campaign featuring posters designed by our very own community.
We hosted our annual community events, including a yacht party on the Hudson in the summer and our annual holiday party in the winter. We’re a party company, after all 🤷♀️
Product Features
Beyond the big launches, we also rolled out a ton of smaller improvements to make the Partiful experience feel more polished. There are too many improvements to include everything (shoutout our engineering team), but to highlight a few:
Whether it’s a classy dinner or a costume party, you can now pick a font that sets the vibe.
Bullying works, so we gave hosts the ability to remove the “Maybe” option entirely. You can also customize RSVP buttons with different emojis or keep it clean with no emojis at all.
We made it easier than ever to bring someone else on board to manage your event. With our new add co-host link, you can directly invite friends to help plan and manage your party without any complicated permissions or logins.
The After Party
So, what’s next for Partiful? We’ll be using this newsletter more to keep you in the loop on everything happening behind the scenes, from feature drops to more wild ideas we’re cooking up. If you’ve made it this far, congrats — you’re officially a **Partiful VIP (still workshopping the name…)
On December 19th, we launched the Partiful After Party, a (highly) requested recap of how you partied this year. Think of it like your very own partying report card — instead of “minutes listened,” you’re getting insights like how many people you invited, what kind of gatherings are your favorite, and how much of a certified party icon you’ve become.
We’d love to see yours! Make sure your app is updated to the latest version to view, then tag us on social… you might just find some exclusive Partiful swag headed your way.
From all of us at Partiful, happy holidays and happy new year! We can’t wait to see how you party in 2025 — and we’ll be right there with you for every unforgettable moment.
XO,
Team Partiful
