a tea tasting + live music journey, in three chapters, in celebration of the mid-autumn festival
as summer’s fire begins to bank into autumn’s quiet, we’re gathering for an evening that moves the way the season does. slowly, from the heart outward, into the center, and down into the root.
🌕 this year our gathering falls in the week before 中秋节, the mid-autumn festival, the night of the year when the moon is at its fullest and families come together to celebrate reunion and harvest. we’ll mark it with mooncakes alongside our tea.
three teas, three chapters, three pieces of live music with echoes of china, and a mooncake tasting to close the circle.
🔥 chapter one · 心 heart
a tea from summer’s height, a short meditation into the heart space, music to match the season’s last blaze
🌾 chapter two · 中 center
a tea for the turning, meditation settling into stomach and spleen, the body’s center
🌱 chapter three · 根 root
the most grounding tea of the three, meditation moving down into the root, music to close the circle
🥮 mooncakes + moon
as we close, we’ll share mooncakes together, a small taste of the reunion and roundness this festival celebrates
no rushing between chapters. just tea, breath, sound, and mooncakes doing the work of moving us through the season.
