Common Questions

How do I invite guests to my event?

Hit the "Share Invite" button to share your event link on any platform: text, Instagram, Snapchat, Slack, WhatsApp, Messenger, email, and more. You can share it individually or in group DMs. Guests RSVP with their phone number, so you'll be able to text blast updates and reminders directly to their phones.

How can guests change their RSVP?

After someone RSVPs, we text them a link that they can use to change their RSVP.

They can also RSVP again using the original link you shared with them and the same phone number, and it will replace their previous RSVP.

What are guest phone numbers used for?

1. To make it easy for guests to change their RSVP or see event details by logging into Partiful with their phone number

2. To send automatic text reminders for your event

3. To allow you to easily communicate with guests by text blasting updates and reminders

‍We will never send marketing texts or anything unrelated to your event.

Can you track who I've invited?

No, but if someone RSVPs "Maybe," we'll text them a reminder to finalize their RSVP.

How do I ask questions to my guests?

In settings, enable Guest Questionnaire to collect information from your attendees. You can click any guest profile to view their answers, or export all answers in Export Guest List.

Can I limit who gets on my guest list?

Yes! You can enable “Require Guest Approval” in settings to prompt guests to apply for your guest list. When managing guests, you’ll be able to set a guest’s status as Approved, Pending, or Remove.

About Partiful

Who is Partiful for?

If you’re sick of Facebook Events, awkward group chats, and screenshotted flyers, Partiful is perfect for you. Create your party page in seconds, with tons of customization options, a photo roll, and endless GIFs and memes to make your party memorable.

Why use Partiful?

Partiful streamlines the process of planning and communicating with guests. It’s great for when you don’t have everyone’s phone numbers or socials, like when you’re inviting friends-of-friends. You get a single link to share on any platform.

Guests RSVP with their phone number, which lets them receive Text Blast updates from you as well as automatic reminders. Everyone who RSVPs can see who else is going (through a setting you control), increasing party attendance and building hype. Everyone can also share photos directly on the party page.

Partiful is also great for:

listed events (where you want to approve each guest)
parties when you need to ask questions of guests (e.g. dietary restrictions)
when you need to collect money via Venmo or CashApp.

Our mission is to help foster friendships through social events, so we also make it easy to connect with the people you’re meeting at parties. Add your socials and photo to your Partiful profile so people can get in touch after each event.

What types of parties does Partiful support?

Anything from small dinner parties, to big weekend houseparties, to massive warehouse raves. Anytime you’re trying to coordinate with a group of people, Partiful comes in handy. We support both regular RSVPs as well as listed events that require host approval of each guest.

We have party people all over the world. Our company is HQ’ed in NYC, where we power thousands of parties every week. But anywhere parties happen, you can find Partiful — throughout the U.S. and around the world. We support most international phone numbers, so whether you’re clubbing in Berlin, vibing in Sydney, raving in Rio, or celebrating in Seoul, Partiful is there for you.

Who are you?

We’re a small team of party people who think it should be way easier to plan social events. We represent a wide range of party vibes:

Some of us spend the entire day cooking to throw the perfect dinner party.
Some of us plan galas as self-care.
Some of us throw cocktail parties just to test drive our mixology experiments.
Some of us claim to have invented the term “dayger.”

Managing Events

How do I make changes to my event?

You can edit your event page at any time, even after sending invites. Just tap the "Edit" button on your event page to edit event details, change your page design, or configure event settings.

How can I limit group size?

Set a maximum capacity for the event and enable an automatic waitlist. If a spot opens up, we'll automatically add the next waitlisted guest and notify them via text.

You can also limit the number of +1 each guest is allowed to bring (under Settings).

How do I add cohosts?

In Settings, you'll see an option to add a co-host.

Anyone you want to add as a co-host must first be a guest of the event (or a past event). If someone is new to Partiful, they will have to first RSVP to your event before you can add them.

Can I hide the guest list or guest count on the party page?

Yes, tap “Edit” to go to edit mode, and then tap “Settings” and go to the “Display + Privacy” tab. You'll see an option to “Show Guest List” and “Show Guest Count” (aka "# Going") on your party page, which you can switch off. You can change this at any time.

How can I export my guest list?

To download a CSV file of your guest list, go to your Guest List and tap “EXPORT CSV” in the top right corner. You can then choose which type(s) of RSVP you'd like to export.

What type of content is restricted from text blasts?

Federal regulations prohibit us from delivering text blasts with the following content: cannabis, CBD, fireworks, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, adult content, hate speech, gambling, prescription drugs.

Collecting Money

How do I collect money from guests?

1. Set a cost per person for the event and enter your Venmo or Cash App or PayPal handle.

2. When guests RSVP, they'll be linked to Venmo/Cash App/PayPal to complete the payment.

3. Once they’ve completed payment, they must return to Partiful to finish RSVPing. We’ll ask them to explicitly confirm that they’ve paid before registering their RSVP.

What can I use this feature for?

Collect money for group reservations, dinners, trips, happy hours, venues, party buses, and more! Not sure if it will work for your use case? DM or email us.

Do you independently verify that guests have paid the correct amount?

We can't verify that guests have paid since the money is not transacted through our platform but through Venmo/Cash App/PayPal. We do ask guests to explicitly confirm that they've paid you.

This feature is designed to help you collect money from people you personally know and trust using tools you already use like Venmo and Cash App. If you're looking for a full-fledged ticketing solution, DM or email us and let us know.

What happens if I change the payment details (amount, platform, Venmo handle / Cashtag, etc.) after I start sending out invites?

Guests who haven't RSVP'ed yet will see the most recent payment details you've entered. For guests who have already RSVP'ed and paid with previous payment details, you'll have to settle any differences manually.

Do you handle refunds?

No, we do not handle refunds. If you have a guest who paid but can't go, you'll have to send the money back to them directly.

Event Reminders

Do you send automatic event reminders?

Yes! For guests who RSVP "Going", we text reminders the day before the event and 2 hours before the event. If someone RSVPs "Maybe," we'll remind them to finalize their RSVP leading up to the event — 2 weeks before, 1 week before, and 1 day before the event.

You can toggle reminders on/off by going to your event page, tapping "Edit", then "Settings", and then “Auto-Reminders”.

Can I send my own reminders?

Yes! Hit "Text Blast" → "New Message" to send a text to groups of guests. You can also send a photo along with your message.

RSVP'ING

Where do I find my events?

You can find all your events that you have RSVP’d or been invited to on the homepage.

How do I get approved or get off the waitlist for an event?

All guest list management is done by the host of your event – please reach out to them directly!

How do I find events to go to?

We have Open Invite events, meaning events where the host has made their event discoverable to some or all of their mutuals. You can find the Open Invite events by tapping “Open Invite” on the homepage.

Can I block a host from inviting me?

Yes! To block a host, reply “X” to the invite notification text. You will no longer receive any invitations from this host.

Inviting Guests

How do I invite guests to my event?

Hit the “Invite” button, which lets you invite any of your Past Guests and Mutuals (people who you’ve been to other Partiful events with) directly through Partiful.

You can also hit the hit the "Copy Link" button to share your event link on any platform: text, Instagram, Snapchat, Slack, WhatsApp, Messenger, email, and more. You can share it individually or in group DMs.

How can guests change their RSVP?

What are guest phone numbers used for?

We will never sell your or your guest’s data.

How do I ask questions to my guests?

In settings, enable Guest Questionnaire to collect information from your attendees. You can view the answers by tapping “View Responses” on the Guest Questionnaire settings, or download by tapping “Export CSV” on the Guest List.

What information can I see about my guests?

You are able to see the names of the guests who have RSVP’d to your event, as well as their RSVP status! You will not be able to see the guest’s phone numbers, per our Privacy Policy.

Can I download the names of my guests?

Yes, to download a CSV file of your guest list, go to your Guest List and tap “EXPORT CSV” in the top right corner. You can then choose which type(s) of RSVP you'd like to export.

However, user’s names in Partiful are often only first names. If you need full names for your event, make sure to ask guests to provide full names in the Guest Questionnaire!

Can I track who I've invited?

You can track anyone you’ve invited through the platform, who will have a status “Invited” in the guest list. You won’t be able to see who you’ve sent the link to on other platforms (e.g. text), until they've RSVP'd.

Can I limit who gets on my guest list?

How can I allow guests to see the location without having to RSVP first?

You can add the location to the event description, which is visible prior to RSVP.

How do I remove a guest?

Find the guest on the guest list, tap on their status, and update it to “Remove”. This will remove them from the event and they will not be notified.

If I remove some from my guest list, will they be notified and will they still be able to see the event and details?

If you remove someone from your guest list, they will not be notified. They won’t be able to see event details like location and who else is going. They would still be able to see everything that’s visible to non-RSVP’ed guests, such as event title, image, and description. If you’d like to prevent them from seeing these details, you can add a password to your event page (be sure to text blast existing guests so they know the password).

I want to stop receiving texts!

Reply “STOP” to any of our notification texts to stop receiving them.

You can also download our iOS app, which sends push notifications instead of texts for most of our updates!

I'm not getting Partiful texts anymore—how do I reenable them?

You may have unsubscribed from Partiful texts.

Can I change my phone number?

In order to change your phone number, you need to still have access to the phone number associated with your account. If so, please fill out this form and follow the instructions.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, to delete your account please text “DELETE” to +1 (213) 335-2406.
