Be My Baby! A Motown Soul Party!

Fri, Apr 17 at 10:30pm · Brooklyn
HEYYYYYY all you movers, shakers, and soul quakers!!! DJ Little Sally is comin’ atcha LIVE once again with the SECOND edition of BE MY BABY! A Motown Soul Party — and this time it’s her BIRTHDAY, too! From the Ronettes to the Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas, the Shirelles, and every smokin’ lady who ever made your heart skip a beat, DJ Little Sally is bringing Motown, Stax, girl groups, and funky grooves so hot you’ll feel ’em in your SOULLLLLLLLLL. And because it’s a birthday blowout, expect a few extra surprises, and maximum dance-floor joy all night long. So grab your shoes, bring your moves, and get ready to clap, stomp, and shake like there’s no tomorrow and help Sally celebrate another fabulous trip around the sun the only way she knows how: with a packed floor and a whole shimmy. PS: Don't forget to limber up for the one am limbo rock! ABOUT LITTLE SALLY Born and raised just outside of Detroit, Little Sally was steeped in the Motown sound early on, thanks to her grandparents Bob and Karen. That foundation deepened during her college years in Detroit’s Cass Corridor, where underage nights (sorry mom!) at Soul Deep Fridays (hosted by the incredible collector and historian Mike Dutkewych) sparked a lifelong obsession with soul music and dance floor fun. Now Brooklyn-based for over a decade, Little Sally (aka Hope Morawa) smashes her love of hometown oldies and her party-throwing instincts together on the dance floor.

Bad Movie Night Brooklyn: Crocodile Fury

Sat at 7pm · Brooklyn
Check out a trailer!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P38Snk3WzwY Bad Movie Night Brooklyn is back at Wild East Brewing, and we're going on a journey to the mystical villages of Indonesia for Crocodile Fury! Originally filmed and released as “Krai Thong 2”, This is a bizarre fairy tale of sorts about Crocodile spirits fighting for honor, love, and power. But when it came to release in the US, director Tomas Tang scrapped and heavily re-edited the movie, enlisting bad movie legend Godfrey Ho to insert completely new footage featuring American actors, ninjas, and hopping vampires! The resulting film is a baffling hodgepodge that truly needs to be experienced to believe! It’s going to baffle, it’s going to confuse, and as always, it’ll be a hilarious time! (Movie will be dubbed in English) Trouble is afoot when the evil witch Monica teams up with Cooper, lord of the seas, and Rudolph, a mysterious shadowy government figure. With Monica’s army of Jiang-Shi (hopping vampires), and Coopers undersea kingdom of human souls turned into crocodiles, world domination is in their grasp! The only thing stopping their evil plan is US Special Agent Bruce Thompson! Also… in a small village located in a completely different movie, a villager named Jack must travel to Cooper’s undersea world to save the woman he loved from being completely corrupted by Cooper’s evil crocodile spirits. Will she succumb to her desires for blood? Will Bruce Thompson be able to stop Monica? Why would you paste a Vampire subplot into a perfectly reasonable movie about a bunch of supernatural killer crocs?? Doors open at 7, movie to start shortly after.

Tulips & Blossoms: Spring Walk in Central Park

Sat, Apr 18 at 3pm · New York
🌷Hey everyone!🌷 Spring is on the way, and on April 18 the city will be right at peak bloom. Join us for a spring walk through some of the season’s best flowers. We’ll start at the West Side Community Garden on 89th Street, where the tulip festival should be in full swing, then make our way through Central Park to catch some of the park’s most beautiful cherry blossom spots. 📍 Meetup: West Side Community Garden (89th Street entrance) at 3 PM. We’ll gather here for 30 minutes before starting the walk. We’ll pass through several scenic spring spots along the way: • West Side Community Garden (89th Street): Tulips and early spring blooms. • Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir: Walk along the water with views of cherry trees in bloom. • Great Lawn: A big open space to enjoy the sun and views of the blossoming trees. • Cedar Hill: A quieter, peaceful spot surrounded by nature. • Pilgrim Hill: Great vantage point for cherry blossoms near the hilltop. • Cherry Hill & Bow Bridge: One of the park’s most iconic cherry blossom views and a perfect photo spot. • Bethesda Terrace: Grand stone terrace overlooking the fountain, surrounded by spring trees and one of Central Park’s most iconic gathering spots. Walk: ~2–2.5 hours at a relaxed pace, depending on how much time we spend enjoying the scenery and taking photos. 🌸 Tips for Enjoying the Walk: • Wear comfortable shoes and dress for spring weather.
