Intro to Story Writing Workshop
Sat, Mar 28 1pm
· England
Unlock your plot with just one sentence. A creative writing workshop by Christopher Lieberman. Join us at The People's Letters for a creative writing workshop based around loglines (a one sentence story pitch) which can reveal important insights into story structure. This workshop would be ideal for people who want help with a specific writing project, but also works for those who are just curious as a way to dip your toes into story crafting. You will get to look at examples of loglines from popular media, come up with your own, and be guided through how to extrapolate from this first sentence into a complex story outline whilst avoiding the common pitfalls. The workshop will start promptly at 1pm and last until 3pm. There will also be mini-zines provided! Reviews from the previous workshop "I left with a new way of looking at my WIP" "It was a fun approach to understanding plot, the discussions were thought-provoking and there was a lot of space for the writers to share thoughts and assist each other" "Very engaging; simple but effective"

On the Luse: Bring Your Own Beauty Art Workshop
Sun, Mar 29 3pm
· England
What’s forgotten at the bottom of your makeup bag? Maybe you’ve decided to break free from the expectations of beauty standards and want to clear out your collection. Maybe those products are still your favourites, but they’ve passed their expiration date and are no longer safe for your priceless skin. Or maybe you just want to spice up your stash and find a better way to let go of the old. Instead of struggling with tricky recycling or throwing them away, this workshop invites you to transform your used or expired beauty products into your creative medium. Replacing traditional paints with makeup pigments, we will use a mix of painting and collage (with provided paper, magazines, glues and scissors) to turn these everyday "tools of the trade" into unique works of art. This workshop is part of the On the Luse series, organised by the London-based creative collective Luminal Space. Luminal Space aims to provide a safe, energising environment for women+ and marginalised communities to explore unidentified experiences through inclusive art and storytelling. We often feel stuck in between—in a liminal space. This collective hopes to bring light to our community and find a way to walk forward together through creativity. In this session, we explore the liminal space of the vanity table: that private, "in-between" moment where we prepare ourselves for the world. The title "On the Luse" is a play on being "on the loose"—it’s about breaking the rules, letting ourselves get creative and expressing whatever we feel, regardless of what the world tells us to be. Whatever you create is art. What to bring: BYOB (Bring Your Own Beauty): Please bring any used, old or expired makeup products you no longer use (lipsticks, palettes, liners, etc.). All other materials (water, paper, magazines, scissors and glue) will be provided. Come for the creativity, stay for the community, and let’s see what happens when we let our beauty products on the luse. About the Facilitator Lu Zhao 赵璐 (she/they) is an artist and the founder of Luminal Space. Their work explores the intersection of identity, gender, rituals and the objects we carry with us. Through Luminal Space, they create safe, inclusive environments where art serves as a tool for deep connection and self-discovery.

😮💨I KNOW!!! The dating scene sucks. You’ve been on date after date and nothing. You’re tired and need something fun that is flirty but relaxed enough to just be you having a good time at a party. 🕺🏻 Fun activity idea!! Why not let your mate showcase how amazing you are? 3-5 minute presentations, then you mingle at a house party with other people whose friends also think they're great. No mate for this date? Fear not, you can come alone too! 🪢 After the presentations: Opt-in prompts (don't worry, we won't force you lol) and activities to help you skip the small talk. Think of this as house party vibes with the chance of meeting someone you like...
