Bye, Gay: A Pride Month Farewell
Fri at 8pm
· Los Angeles
Pride Month? Over?? Already?! As we say “so long” to Pride Month (and “hello” to being unapologetically queer all year long), kick off the final weekend of June with a night of celebration and dance alongside an all-LGBTQ+ DJ lineup! Expect distinct sets from LA faves spanning various electronic subgenres, guaranteed to keep your hips moving and your Pride Month-ing. Journey through chill and groovy house, pop staples and dancefloor reworks, fierce and sexy techno, bass, breaks, and plenty more throughout the evening — all wrapped up in bold queerness and served HOT! Lorem Ipsum 8 to 9 p.m. mad gavs 9 to 10 p.m. promwitch 10 to 11 p.m. SUPPA 11 p.m. to close (set times are approximate) Lorem Ipsum Lorem Ipsum is a deep and melodic progressive house DJ specializing in controlled, refined pressure building, energy control, and hypnotic peak-time catharsis for music-centered spaces. His distinctive queer twist creates moments of emotional release and heart-opening climaxes, to create shared journeys on dancefloors. Lorem Ipsum’s musical DNA is built from the desert, his own spirit of service, and a Burning Man-born ethos of radical expression and activism. He routinely plays for California's and Nevada's largest furry festivals, psychedelic off-grid desert campouts, San Diego's full moon gatherings, LGBTQ+ socials, and intimate all-nighters. Often, Lorem Ipsum is enlisted as a secret weapon DJ adept at creating unforgettable, welcoming, hypnotic groove-locked trance and communal catharsis — depending on the space's needs. mad gavs mad gavs (she/her) is a dynamic force behind the decks, seamlessly blending an eclectic spectrum of sounds — from club to breaks, house to techno, Jersey to jungle, and everything in between. Her sets are a high-energy exploration, pushing boundaries while keeping dance floors locked in motion. mad gavs has played a key role in fostering its community-driven ethos and forward-thinking sound, cementing her place in the underground circuits known for championing cutting-edge electronic music. Her 909 club edits have caught ears far and wide, earning spins on BBC Radio 1 and making waves at festivals like Lightning in a Bottle. Whether in intimate clubs, gay bars or expansive festival arenas, mad gavs delivers with precision, energy, and an unrelenting passion for sound. promwitch promwitch (they/them) is a dynamic, genre-fluid DJ often treading the lines between sugary sweet pop; unabashed femme-forward sass; and the more hard-hitting, evocative, even menacing beats that first enamored them as a teen (and still do within the LA underground). As an artist and long-time writer for prominent LGBTQ+ publications, their queer and nonbinary identity is an integral part of their creative expression across mediums. A life-long fan of electronic music, promwitch found solace on warehouse dancefloors of various Los Angeles raves and queer parties, using movement and sound as a means of processing their identity and gender. Moving behind the decks was the logical next step. While promwitch found their sweet spot with fast-paced, groovy techno, they dabble in house, breakbeat, hyperpop, trance, happy hardcore, and electro (among other genres) — all the while infusing their brazen queerness and passion for the music into every mix. SUPPA SUPPA (she/they) is a passionate DJ and avid lover of breaks, house, techno, breakbeat, drum and bass, jungle, club music, and more. SUPPA currently represents several collectives dedicated to inclusivity and the empowerment of underrepresented artists and communities within dance culture. Since 2022, she’s hosted "Bops N Drops" on Particle FM, a DIY community internet radio station in San Diego, and she’s also involved in femme-forward, queer DJ workshops with Bass n Babes. Through these efforts, SUPPA aims to create safe and inclusive spaces for queer, femme, nonbinary, and LGBTQ+ individuals in music, while uplifting the creativity of this vibrant community. Her dedication to radical self-expression through music has allowed her to cultivate a well-rounded perspective on electronic music and the broader music culture in Southern California.

We are headed back downtown to the historic Globe Theatre. We’re closing out PRIDE together on the dance floor and, this time, the whole house is yours. At 9pm, we have DJ Mascfish taking the UPSTAIRS at Maurice’s reins on the Lower Level. At 10pm, we will open the main level with DJ Jack Faulkner delivering the full MAURICE fantasy of sweat-fueled nights of dancing to the music of the gay clubs and discos of 1977-1989. And you know we can't have a special MAURICE without Symone descending upon us all. I can’t think of anything more exhilarating than a trip to the theater.

Scrap & Yap: Junk Journaling
Sat at 11am
· Santa Monica
Hot glue? No. Hot gossip? Always. Pull up for a day of cutting, pasting, oversharing, and making something cute out of your chaos. Scrap & Yap is our signature low-effort, high-vibes junk journaling hang—where nothing has to match, everything has a story, and the table might get a little messy (as it should). You’ll get access to our communal stash of extra papers, textures, and random little treasures to play with. Scissors & glue are on deck, so just bring yourself and your personality. BUT—real ones know: the magic is in the personal scraps. Bring your old photos, love notes, receipts, screenshots printed out at CVS, ticket stubs, or any tiny relics you can’t throw away. Trade with your table besties or hoard your goods—we don’t judge. 🍵 Matcha + cookies will be available for purchase (for sipping while you spill) 🛍️ Our lil gift shop will be open if you feel like treating yourself mid-craft $20 per person. Sign up at blowmecandle.com Come yap. Come scrapbook your lore. Come romanticize your paper trail. 💌

Soft Launch: A Rooftop Reading Series (June)
Yesterday at 6pm
Welcome to Soft Launch: a West Side reading series for creative works in progress. Each month a lineup of poets, authors, screenwriters, and comedians take the mic on a Venice rooftop to share developing work with a room full of curious, creative Angelenos. It’s part reading, part creative laboratory, part community gathering. Bring the piece that’s still rough around the edges. The bit that might fail. The idea you can’t quite shake. Come discover what’s landing, revel in the creative process, and meet fellow artists and potential collaborators. Soft Launch is a safe space for experimentation, realtime feedback, and creative connection. A celebration of the electric middle of making something—when our art is at its most honest, imperfect, and alive. Want to share your work? Sign up in the link above!
