Dasein AI Film Festival
Sun, Apr 26 at 6:30pm
· San Francisco
Dasein AI Film Festival Cinema at the Edge of Human and Machine Being What does it mean to exist in an era shaped by artificial intelligence? The Dasein AI Film Festival is a curated screening event focused on short films that engage with questions of consciousness, identity, memory, and human–machine relations through the use of AI. Inspired by the concept of Dasein the awareness of one’s presence and relationship to the world the festival presents works that examine how emerging technologies influence perception, authorship, and cinematic form. We highlight filmmakers who use cinema as a space for exploration rather than spectacle. Films that reflect on how images are made, how stories are shaped, and how meaning shifts when human and algorithmic processes intersect. The evening is structured as a shared viewing experience followed by conversation and connection among artists, jury members, and guests. PROGRAM FORMAT • Curated short film screenings (most of them under 5 minutes) All selected winners receive official laurels and festival spotlight features. www.daseinfilmfestival.com

Fennel Doyle, who created D5WR -- a STEAM crusade to boost regenerative energy, modal shift & the green economy -- was nearly murdered on this very route 14 years ago. She is a NYC Parsons School of Design Dean's List graduate, NCAA Division 1 Ivy League Champion (with Brown University Women's Soccer team), road runner, scuba diver, dancer and acclaimed solar punk artist. She was hit by a car driver (AKA "Death Monster") which broke both her legs simultaneously, while she was going to Ocean Beach, to catch the Men's World Surf Competition of American OG Kelly Slater vs rising Brazilian superstar Gabriel Medina. She was released from the hospital on 11/11/11, bionic, with a titanium right leg. Luckily, Fennel fully recovered from the crash, and was able to reproduce a child. In 2020, Fennel created D5WR when schools closed during COVID for 2 years. "In the dark shadow of death*", Fennel and her (then 7 YO) son began going to the beach park together seeking life, energy, and observation-based learning flow state, as school. D5WR campaigned tirelessly to unlock the path for all, forever, to create health for future generations, and particularly for Black & broke folks living in the city. Health = Wealth. We go hard to clear our minds and ideate. We keep going. OPEN DOOR POLICY is a housing + community event bringing agents, experts, and locals together to talk about the hottest topic in SF: housing. We’re flipping the script. No gatekeeping. The door between brokerages, agents, and the community has been closed for too long. We’re opening it. 4–8 PM: panels + food & drinks 8–10 PM: open time to meet others in the community, ask questions & connect with housing professionals! There will be an open bar, DJ, and food provided. This is a free community event. Panel topics and times dropping soon!

Sonamó + DJ Nino MSK
Thu at 9pm
· San Francisco
San Francisco’s funkiest “little room / big show” night is back. Sonamó turns Madrone into a full-throttle, late-night dance floor—the kind of night where the band plays like it’s a 1,000-person festival… even if you’re close enough to feel the bass in your ribs. Sonamó Live brings Italian backbone + global grooves + Bay Area funk energy, then we hand the room to our partner in crime DJ Nino MSK for an all-vinyl DJ set that keeps the party spinning until the end. Come for the show. Stay for the wax. 🕘 9:00 PM Doors 🎶 9:30 PM Sonamó (Live) 💿 11:30 PM DJ Nino MSK (All-Vinyl DJ Set) 💵 $5 at the door 📀 Eclectic Radio vinyl available at the merch table Bring your crew. Dress however you dance. Just don’t show up “for a quick one.” That’s how they get you.
