Tomorrow 3pm · Long Island City
Join us at Culture Lab LIC for an intimate afternoon featuring the contemporary artists and curator of Modern Ink: Crossing Media, Blending Cultures. Whether you’re an art aficionado or just curious about the process behind the brush, come experience a fresh perspective on the power of ink in the 21st century. Artists: Li Geng Wang Houtang Gan Yu Qin Feng (will not be in attendence) Bian Hong Curator: Ethan Cohen Assistant Curators: Chere Hong and Jessica Yang Academic Host: Tess Howsam and Gan Yu About the exhibition: -- Modern Ink: Crossing Media, Blending Cultures -- Ink is the soul of Chinese art. In celebration of the 2026 Chinese New Year, Culture Lab LIC presents Modern Ink: Crossing Media, Blending Cultures, a group exhibition of contemporary Chinese artists. The five participating artists each possess a distinctive style and unique artistic language. Through their works, audiences can hear a voice that traverses Eastern and Western artistic media, integrates the essence of both cultures, and resonates with the pulse of contemporary society; they can also see conceptual expressions that range from the concentrated spirit of Chinese calligraphy and expressions to the Wall Street Series, which is deeply connected to the realities of modern life. Drawing on years of artistic practice, the artists reveal both their personal creative pursuits and broader cultural concerns. These works invite viewers into a multilayered aesthetic experience while encouraging reflection on classical and contemporary art, Eastern and Western traditions, and the human condition of our time.

Stop1

Sat, Feb 28 9pm · Brooklyn
Stop1 is back After a well-earned rest from our first season, we're setting up with a new venue, new lights, and the same great people. On February 28, we transform Honey's into a safe haven of dancing, yapping, and general tomfoolery. Whether we're your first, last, or only stop, we're here to keep the dance floor foggy, the music loud, and the vibes good. Conduit, Stop1 resident, is a rising star in the Brooklyn electronic music scene. A conduit for sound, a crafter of connection, and a maestro of emotion. Whether you've seen him at the Williamsburg Bridge or somewhere deep in the forest, you know his sound is silky, psychedelic, and technical. Iggy Nuclear is the founder of the legendary Adverse Effects collective in Philadelphia. Having shared the stage with Julia Govor, DJ Tool, and others, he uncovers gems, playfully interweaves emotion and tension, all with an air of deep craft. Kettle is one of the founders of Stop1 and is known for his diverse sets, mixing house, techno, and disco into euphoric times on the dance floor. His sets blur the line between accessible and educational as he digs deep into his record bag. Focused on inclusivity, he created Stop1 for everyone, an entry point into the dance music scene. Sotiris is our lighting engineer, and we are blessed to have him on the team. His lighting design is simple, classy, and deeply emotional. He takes reference from the best parties and clubs in the world and brings their influence to Stop1, creating our little universe here. If you find yourself in a state of euphoria, you can thank Sotiris. Stop1 is meant to be an inclusive party. It's free and welcoming. Whether it's your first dance music event or you're a regular at every club in the city, we welcome you with open arms. That said, violence, non-consensual touching, racist, homophobic, transphobic, sexist, ageist, or other discriminatory language, and leering are not allowed at the party. February 28 9pm-4am Honey's Brooklyn 93 Scott Ave $10 / Free before 11 Dance floor is for dancing! No photos! Yes to love! Yes to dancing! We hope to see you there ♡ ♡ ♡
