VIOLET: Art x Tech Exhibition Opening!

Sat, Jun 27 at 1pm · San Francisco
Hey friends! 💜 You are cordially invited to Iris’ first solo exhibition in San Francisco! June 27 (opening): 1-5 pm June 28: 10am - 1pm VIOLET is a part of the Artist-In-Residence program of Jettison Creative. This is a multimedia project I have been developing over the past five months, showcasing my experimentation with new mediums including digital collage, interactive elements, and physical installations (that means zero photography! Gosh I am nervous) If you are interested in conversations around art x tech, or you love art works you can interact with, come hang out together with some snacks and drinks 🍺💜 👇🏻More about VIOLET👇🏻 After moving from Hong Kong to San Francisco, Iris found herself immersed in a city where technology quietly structures everyday life, and where conversations around AI are often framed in technical terms. VIOLET emerges from a personal tension, an existential crisis in the artist’s encounters with AI. While its possibilities are undeniable, something about our interaction and use of AI remains difficult to articulate, a feeling that is both empowering and unsettling. VIOLET is a show that brings this ambiguity into the physical space through digital collage, written correspondence with AI, and interactive installations. Three modes of human-AI relationship are staged: intimacy, control, and projection. VIOLET does not attempt to provide answers. Instead, it creates a space to sit with questions: how do we understand our multi-aspect relationship with AI, and what does that relationship inform us of the human identity, value and purpose?

Permission to Lose It — a Somatic Tantrum Ritual for Women

Thu at 7pm · North Berkeley Hills, CA
There are parts of you you’ve learned are “too much.” Too intense. Too overwhelming. Too messy to make sense of. Too inconvenient to let exist. Over time, many of us have learned to contain them — to quiet them, override them, or make them more reasonable than we actually feel. So the intensity stays. Held in the body. Revisited in the mind. Waiting for a space where it can finally move. What if these moments are not a problem to solve? What if they are expressions of something within us that simply has not yet been met, felt, or allowed? When there is enough safety, both internally and around us, emotional intensity can begin to shift. What once felt overwhelming can move, soften, and resolve — often more quickly than we expect. Permission to Lose It is a tender, unapologetic, experiential space for exploring this possibility. Through somatic practices and relational exercises, we will create the conditions for what has been held inside to be met with presence and care. Together, we will explore: – how emotional intensity lives and moves in the body – what happens when we allow ourselves to feel without immediately containing or explaining – how to stay connected to ourselves while something strong is moving – the quiet intelligence within our most overwhelming moments This is not about acting from reactivity. It's about becoming less afraid of yourself. It is about having a space to let things move, so you can show up in your life with more clarity, and develop a deeper capacity to be with yourself. You may leave with: – a softer, more spacious relationship to emotional intensity – a greater sense of trust in your inner experience – an embodied sense of relief and settling – a deeper connection to yourself and others

Tue, Jun 2 at 6pm · San Francisco
In this guided mixed media workshop, you will paint your own , one-of-a-kind, 4x6 inches textured floral masterpieces on paper — no experience needed, just a willingness to play and get a little messy.
