Baukunst First Fridays: High Fiber + Tequila

Yesterday at 5pm · San Francisco
✨Join us for Baukunst First Friday, where we will be celebrating the closing reception of "High Fiber", an exhibition that explores textiles as surfaces of labor, memory, and transformation. ...also, California-based tequila and mezcal producer Nosotros will be providing a comprehensive tasting of their award-winning spirits! More on High Fiber: Textiles are all around us. We encounter them daily—worn, touched, used, and relied upon—often without noticing. They can be large or intimate in scale, typically soft yet sometimes rigid or resistant, prompting questions about how textiles operate when considered as art. Through processes of pleating, quilting, folding, sculpting, dyeing, and over-dyeing, textiles become sites of experimentation and transformation. Long associated with utility and craft, textile materials in this exhibition are considered as art: as surfaces that record time and labor, as structures that hold memory, and as forms that blur distinctions between function and sculpture. Stretchy or stiff, porous or dense, these works invite close looking and bodily awareness, asking our mediums to be read not only as material, but as language. Featuring work by:
Katherine Akey
Bodil Fox
Evie Hidysmith
Lindsay Langsdale
Grace Ledoux
Meaty Ocher
Sarah Moss-Horwitz
Philippa Renshaw
Amy Giovanna Rinaldi

House Concert - Lucy Clearwater & Lucas Lawson

Yesterday at 7pm · San Francisco
Join us for an evening of songs and stories in the round from Lucy Clearwater and Lucas Lawson. Please arrive at 7pm, and music will begin at 7:30pm. Snacks and beverages are welcome! Suggested donation $15-$30 Get to know Lucas: Lucas Lawson is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and gatherer of friends who help to bring his harmonious music alive. To Lucas, music is much more than sound. It is a powerful tool for change, a means for connection, and a source of love -- all of which are woven into the cadence of his songs.  His transformative lyrics and heartfelt instrumentation are intertwined in a gesture of intentionality and expression. His most recent record, Flowers on the Road, is out now!  Get to know Lucy: Born in a bathtub in a cookie factory in California, Lucy Clearwater is an acoustic folk/Americana singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and nature-loving old soul with a background in classical violin. Since moving to LA in 2016, she’s released an emotional range of singles and EPs (Feel Again, Casual, Augenlieder, and April), sold out beloved venues like The Hotel Cafe, and graced the stage at The Troubadour. She’s toured internationally, shared the stage with artists like John Craigie, Madison Cunningham, Ye Vagabonds, Victoria Canal, Philine Sonny, and Luca Fogale, and won the 2024 New Folk Competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival. Lucy’s heartfelt, vulnerable songwriting and rich acoustic sound resonate deeply with audiences. Her debut full-length album, produced by Grammy award winning producer Tyler Chester, is set for release in Spring 2026. Pro tip: bring tissues to her shows.
