✨Join us for Baukunst First Friday, where we will be celebrating the closing reception of "High Fiber", an exhibition that explores textiles as surfaces of labor, memory, and transformation. ...also, California-based tequila and mezcal producer Nosotros will be providing a comprehensive tasting of their award-winning spirits! More on High Fiber: Textiles are all around us. We encounter them daily—worn, touched, used, and relied upon—often without noticing. They can be large or intimate in scale, typically soft yet sometimes rigid or resistant, prompting questions about how textiles operate when considered as art. Through processes of pleating, quilting, folding, sculpting, dyeing, and over-dyeing, textiles become sites of experimentation and transformation. Long associated with utility and craft, textile materials in this exhibition are considered as art: as surfaces that record time and labor, as structures that hold memory, and as forms that blur distinctions between function and sculpture. Stretchy or stiff, porous or dense, these works invite close looking and bodily awareness, asking our mediums to be read not only as material, but as language. Featuring work by:

Khoi Pham: Matter of Time - Opening Reception

Join us for the opening of MATTER OF TIME with Bay Area artist Khoi Pham (@khoibpham) at Two Two in Oakland. Pham’s work, often printed on aluminum, begins with a camera, isolating fragments of the physical world. Through drawing, digital distortion and reconstruction, these fragments are stretched beyond their origins. The works linger between observation and transformation, where the everyday is not simply documented, but intensified, taking on a strange and luminous presence. We’re honored to have Khoi’s work at Two Two this spring and hope you’ll join us to celebrate and meet the artist! Opening reception will feature a show-specific audio sculpture by Sab Mai (@bodega.superstar) and bites by Cyn (@sea2sea.co)

It’s the perfect class for gardeners, farmers market lovers, and foragers. Beth Sevilla from Busy Bloomin will be sharing with us gardening tips for those who want to arrange what they grow. Cecilia Tran will be providing instruction on a very Californian, garden style of arranging. We’ll provide flowers, vessels, tools, wine, light refreshments, and fun instruction for floral designers at all levels. You’ll take home a stunning arrangement and some new skills. We will also be selling some flowering plants to get your garden blooming ASAP.

A Top Shelf finalist in NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest 2024, Stefan creates a musical space for people to access a deeper vulnerability. How Lucky You Are, Stefan’s debut full-length album, came out last year on Better Company Records. Liana Warren is a singer-songwriter based in Oakland, California. Her work is marked by her intimate honesty, robust lyricism, intricate fingerpicked guitar, and energetic emotionality compared to the likes of Joni Mitchell, Adrianne Lenker, and John Prine. Previously performing as "Liana For Now," she reflects on temporality and change in the messy beauty of existence. Born on the East Coast, and home to the West, Blair Borax’s relationship with music began unexpectedly in 2016, when a friend gifted her a cheap guitar. Since then, Borax has become a prolific songwriter, recording artist, and performer, known for her distinctive voice, captivating melodies, and thoughtful songwriting that taps into the heart of being human. Her third full length record, The Color Green (2025) is a collection of ten songs searching for hope in dystopian times. Fans of Adrianne Lenker, Hannah Cohen, and Angie McMahon may find something to love in her music.
