“Bad” art swap
Tomorrow at 2pm
· San Francisco
Come to the first annual 💖😦🌈BAD ART SWAP🐟🔮😍 While I am a strong believer that there is no such thing as bad art, I do know what it feels like to have a lot of art I’ve created that I’d prefer to no longer look at. Instead of putting our tired art into the landfill, why not give it a chance for a new home?? All art forms, all artists, welcome. Just bring your creations that youd like to trade or swap with other fellow artists. Ceramics, paintings, jewelry, clothes, etc., bring it! Feel free to stay and hang out to make some new artists friends and make some art. Invite your friends!!

Dasein AI Film Festival
Tomorrow at 6:30pm
· San Francisco
Dasein AI Film Festival Cinema at the Edge of Human and Machine Being What does it mean to exist in an era shaped by artificial intelligence? The Dasein AI Film Festival is a curated screening event focused on short films that engage with questions of consciousness, identity, memory, and human–machine relations through the use of AI. Inspired by the concept of Dasein the awareness of one’s presence and relationship to the world the festival presents works that examine how emerging technologies influence perception, authorship, and cinematic form. We highlight filmmakers who use cinema as a space for exploration rather than spectacle. Films that reflect on how images are made, how stories are shaped, and how meaning shifts when human and algorithmic processes intersect. The evening is structured as a shared viewing experience followed by conversation and connection among artists, jury members, and guests. PROGRAM FORMAT • Curated short film screenings (most of them under 5 minutes) All selected winners receive official laurels and festival spotlight features. www.daseinfilmfestival.com

Best Friends Illuminated: An Art Experience
Wed at 7pm
· San Francisco
It’s the thing we reach for before we even know we're reaching. It accompanies (haunts?) our waking moments, and many of our sleeping one. It’s our trusty tool. Our worst addiction. The rectangle we just can’t quit. It’s our best friend. April 29, Tillage is hosting something rarer than sunshine in the Sunset in August: a tech-free art experience. Come meet Matthew Stansell, the painter behind Best Friends Illuminated, featuring people on their phones + nighttime scenes of SF. His paintings don't scold. They linger. They ask you to pause, be present, and perhaps to notice something different. To see something new amidst a familiar scene. When you arrive, you'll be handed a printed guide — poetry, provocations, & quiet questions to ponder as you engage with the art. Pour a drink. Sit with the paintings. Sit with yourself. Then find a neighbor and compare notes: the conversations waiting for you here are the ones that only happen IRL. Which means (and we absolutely mean this), no phones allowed. Leave your phone at home or check it in at the door. No, we won’t strip search you if you try to sneak your phone inside, but do you really want to be that person? This event is free and open to the neighborhood. Our little gift to San Francisco. Space is intentionally limited so pre-registration is required. Come be illuminated.

For one evening, the space will be filled with star-shaped objects I’ve been making over the past 6 months. Candelabras, hooks, vases, all meant to be lived with, touched, and gathered around. Fri, May 8 at 10pm
· San Francisco
BOOF is a queer-led underground. Come to move, connect, explore, watch, participate, or just lose yourself in the room. All expressions of gender, sexuality, race, and style are welcome here. In two years, BOOF has grown into one of San Francisco’s most vital queer nightlife spaces by building something immersive, high-energy, and fully our own. BOOF — FRI, MAY 8 ⛓️ DANCE + DARK ROOM 😈 📍 The Foundry SF — 1425 Folsom St 🕙 10P → 4A 📸 IG @boof.party BOOF returns to The Foundry. Two dance floors and a dark room. ⛓️💥 ABOUT THIS EVENT After sustained operational excellence in underground indulgence and several quarters of spiritually dubious nightlife production, BOOF returns to The Foundry to once again optimize your evening into a high-output, low-regret sensory experience. Leveraging two fully activated dance floors and a strategically underlit dark room environment, we invite you to participate in a vertically integrated night of sweat, sound, and poor decision-making. In an increasingly crowded nightlife marketplace, BOOF asks: what if the function was the dysfunction? what if the dance floor dissolved and no one was watching anyway? what if we stopped pretending this was about anything other than the music—and each other? This is a no-spectator environment. Engagement is mandatory. Observation is discouraged. 🖤 VIBE dark, sweaty, charged no spectators — only participants

She is a NYC Parsons School of Design Dean's List graduate, NCAA Division 1 Ivy League Champion (with Brown University Women's Soccer team), road runner, scuba diver, dancer and acclaimed solar punk artist. She was hit by a car driver (AKA "Death Monster") which broke both her legs simultaneously, while she was going to Ocean Beach, to catch the Men's World Surf Competition of American OG Kelly Slater vs rising Brazilian superstar Gabriel Medina. She was released from the hospital on 11/11/11, bionic, with a titanium right leg. Luckily, Fennel fully recovered from the crash, and was able to reproduce a child. In 2020, Fennel created D5WR when schools closed during COVID for 2 years. "In the dark shadow of death*", Fennel and her (then 7 YO) son began going to the beach park together seeking life, energy, and observation-based learning flow state, as school.
