BOOF: flirty800 b2b DJ USA (DANCE + DARK ROOM)

Fri, May 8 at 10pm · San Francisco
BOOF is a queer-led underground. Come to move, connect, explore, watch, participate, or just lose yourself in the room. All expressions of gender, sexuality, race, and style are welcome here. In two years, BOOF has grown into one of San Francisco’s most vital queer nightlife spaces by building something immersive, high-energy, and fully our own. BOOF — FRI, MAY 8 ⛓️ DANCE + DARK ROOM 😈 📍 The Foundry SF — 1425 Folsom St 🕙 10P → 4A 📸 IG @boof.party BOOF returns to The Foundry. Two dance floors and a dark room. ⛓️‍💥 ABOUT THIS EVENT After sustained operational excellence in underground indulgence and several quarters of spiritually dubious nightlife production, BOOF returns to The Foundry to once again optimize your evening into a high-output, low-regret sensory experience. Leveraging two fully activated dance floors and a strategically underlit dark room environment, we invite you to participate in a vertically integrated night of sweat, sound, and poor decision-making. In an increasingly crowded nightlife marketplace, BOOF asks: what if the function was the dysfunction? what if the dance floor dissolved and no one was watching anyway? what if we stopped pretending this was about anything other than the music—and each other? This is a no-spectator environment. Engagement is mandatory. Observation is discouraged. 🖤 VIBE dark, sweaty, charged no spectators — only participants

It is our honor to present this unmatched urban Third Place, rich with wildlife, after 6+ years of D5WR advocacy efforts, in accordance with 8-80 Cities design principles: https://www.880cities.org Our San Francisco city Green Beltway goes from Tenderloin/Fillmore inner-city to the breath taking expansive Pacific ocean surf beach coastline shore of monumental ancient sand dunes. Fennel Doyle, who created D5WR -- a STEAM crusade to boost regenerative energy, modal shift & the green economy -- was nearly murdered on this very route 14 years ago. She is a NYC Parsons School of Design Dean's List graduate, NCAA Division 1 Ivy League Champion (with Brown University Women's Soccer team), road runner, scuba diver, dancer and acclaimed solar punk artist. She was hit by a car driver (AKA "Death Monster") which broke both her legs simultaneously, while she was going to Ocean Beach, to catch the Men's World Surf Competition of American OG Kelly Slater vs rising Brazilian superstar Gabriel Medina. She was released from the hospital on 11/11/11, bionic, with a titanium right leg. Luckily, Fennel fully recovered from the crash, and was able to reproduce a child. In 2020, Fennel created D5WR when schools closed during COVID for 2 years. "In the dark shadow of death*", Fennel and her (then 7 YO) son began going to the beach park together seeking life, energy, and observation-based learning flow state, as school. D5WR campaigned tirelessly to unlock the path for all, forever, to create health for future generations, and particularly for Black & broke folks living in the city. Health = Wealth. We go hard to clear our minds and ideate. We keep going. We hold space for youthful freestyle regenerative energy to compound peace. https://www.strava.com/athletes/67012557 #carfreeisSEXY "Aren't You Tireddddddddd?" - Kendrick Lamar "Make up is science" - Kryolan "Let's work" - Prince *Wu-Tang Clan We acknowledge the importance of Native American Ohlone stewardship of this land horticulture for 10,000+ years. As well as the need for grassroots action, community empowerment, and the deep connection between environmental health and social well-being, as exemplified by the powerful legacy of the Green Belt Movement's founder, Wangarĩ Maathai, in Kenya. D5WR is proud to share our core beloved city green pathway with you and yours. We recently transformed some of the deadliest city streets into the most vibrant accessible efficient streets — safe for all living beings (including DT SF office commuters). #B2Bsempre inspired by: M-PESA, Straus Family Creamery, American-Kenyan farmer Kelis, Farming for Hope, Walk SF, SF Bay Area Families For Safe Streets, Rich City Rides, Church of Eight Wheels, Streets Forward, Bike Bus World, Streets For All, Bay Area Outreach and Recreation Program (BORP), Nature in the City, SF New Farm, Westside Collective, and SambaFunk Arts.
